About Inspiration

I am having trouble with my one-to-one messages too. I just happened to see this message that you posted publicly or I would have missed it. I am still fighting the school system. I found out that they won't hear my appeal to the state until June 14th and school is out on May 25th. How much sense does that make? However, I want them to proceed so that I could use up as much of their time and resources as possilble. Talk to you soon.

I’m having problems with getting my messages to post when I reply to someone. My message just sits there as if the post button isn’t working. Therefore, the only way I can get my messages to go through is to cancel out of that, hover my mouse over the person’s profile picture, select one-to-one, and send my message that way.

Also, I’m trying to view older posts, but it will only go so far and then bounce you back to page one.

One more thing, I want to search for people that I’ve seen on Aidpage but have never exchanged one on one messages with. How can I do that? I tried to use the same search method as I do for my one-to-one contacts but it comes up empty.

I made this post earlier but it went missing in action when I hit the post button. I have a minor request that may not be important to anyone else but me. The old Aidpage displayed the exact date in which a member joined the site as well as the date and/or the time as to when a member last logged in. Can this feature be added back? As a long-time active member, this is extremely important to me for various reasons. I have helped many people on this site, some of which only pop up every now and then when they need help again. Knowing when an Aidpage member last logged in helps me narrow down who to help and how. It’s also encouraging to see other members who have been here for many years like myself, especially if they are active members.

Am I able to access old messages that were sent and received before the website upgrade? I have a few where I can't remember their profile name, therefore unable to search for them.

In need of transportation

Oh my.  That means that you were only 13 or 14 years old when this happened to you.  What a brave girl you were and a strong woman you’ve become.

I have some suggestions that may be helpful.  Please take a look at http://www.freecharitycars.org/.  You start by Creating Your Profile, Generating Votes, and applying for a Free Charity Car.  The only downside to this option is that it can take months and even years to receive a free car.  However, some members have received charity cars within a matter of weeks.  There’s just no guarantee of when it will happen.

Another option would be requesting a free bus pass.  I’m not sure if you live in an area where you are close to bus transportation, but I’ve been researching this option online and some bus companies offer free bus passes for the disabled.  If this might be something you’re interested in, let me know the name of the bus company, and I’ll be happy to find the right person to contact to get your started.

What's on your heart and mind today?

in response to My daughter'sdad...   I try very hard to keep a positive attitude no matter how bad things seem, and I appreciate the positive feedback. If we continue to focus on how bad things are, we rob ourselves of opportunities that can bring a positive change to our lives.

please help with electric bill

If you haven’t done so already, ask for help with your power bill from the Energy Assistance Program in your County.  I sought help from the agency in my County last year, and they paid my utility bill for one month.
