My friend, please don't allow yourself to believe that death is your only option. I understand what you're going through as I am also struggling both emotionally and financially. I saw where you've written to Oprah for help and wanted to share something with you. I recently purchased a book containing a list of celebrity addresses and Oprah Winfrey was included in that list. I'm not sure what method you used to contact her originally, but maybe you can try contacting her at the address shown here. I wish you the best of luck. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

rental assistance and grants available

I can't imagine throwing someone out on the streets just because they couldn't pay rent. I couldn't be a landlord, because I could never bring myself to put people out because they are struggling. Unfortunately, it's all about money and some people just don't care as long as they get their money.

Has your friend tried talking to her landlord? If not, she should write him a letter and make it official. Explain the situation and ask for more time. If he refuses to work with her, then at least she tried. If that route fails, I would suggest that she set up a PayPal account and ask for donations. Even a penny would help if enough people donated to her cause.

I haven't forgotten about you. I'm looking into contacting some used car dealerships in Chicago and ask if they would consider donating a car to you. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you. I have been mixing bleach and water in a spray bottle and saturating the areas of mold and mildew. However, there are several areas where the walls and floor began to crumble apart from water leaks. I had someone come out and look at the damage, and he said that most of the areas will need to be replaced.

I have been a loyal member of Aidpage since 2010. I stumbled upon this website by accident and became a member for the sole purpose of helping others. While here, I have given countless hours of my time, offered advice, shared my knowledge, and have often given food and money to numerous Aidpage members over the past several years. Please take a moment to read through my postings to learn more about me. I am the type of person who would rather give than receive, and doing so has brought me a tremendous amount of peace and joy. Therefore, it is hard for me to reverse roles and become the one asking for help.

My family and I live in a mobile home that is in desperate need of repairs, not for cosmetic reasons but for health reasons. When my husband and I got married in 1991, we purchased a brand new Spring Hill mobile home. Like most couples, it was intended to be a temporary home until we could later build our dream home. However, after almost 22 years of marriage, 2 children, health problems, and 4 job layoffs, we are still living in the same mobile home. Over time, we started experiencing plumbing problems, which created leaks. We also experienced moisture problems around all of the windows and doors. We became overwhelmed with problems with no money to make the repairs. Furthermore, after doing research on Spring Hill mobile homes, I discovered that the company is no longer in business, which left us with no resources to turn to for help. I have attached various pictures of the problems we are currently experiencing.

My husband started experiencing health problems in 2000 that were unrelated to the conditions of the mobile home, and I have been the primary provider of my family of four since that time. Unfortunately, I began experiencing allergy-related problems, partially caused by the conditions in our home. I am highly allergic to penicillin, which is derived from fungus and mold. Due to the plumbing problems we've experienced over the years, we have mold and mildew that has formed in various parts of our home that I attempt to hide with rugs and cabinets out of embarrassment. I am currently receiving allergy shots for my allergic reactions, but know that I won't fully recover unless our mold and mildew problems have been eliminated. Then on Monday, March 18, 2013, we encountered severe thunderstorms and tornados in our area. The high winds caused a large pine tree to snap and fall, taking out a portion of our back porch with it, which is another repair to add to the list.

Therefore, I am trying to raise money so that I can move forward with these repairs as soon as possible. I am extremely proficient with the computer and have created hundreds of resumes for friends, family members, and even strangers I met on Aidpage. I have the knowledge and skills to polish a resume to perfection. I attended resume-writing classes after each of my job layoffs, but gained most of my resume expertise through experience. I can create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. I would like to offer my computer skills to anyone in need in exchange for a one-dollar donation. Also, if anyone has items such as old cabinets or an old bathroom sink lying around that they would be willing to donate toward the repairs, it would be greatly appreciated. Since I have been the victim of online scammers in the past, I am willing to provide documented proof that I’m telling the truth. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I just read your post and wanted to respond and let you know that I understand how frustrating it can be when it seems like no one is listening to your cries for help. I've been a member of Aidpage for almost 3 years, and I don't know how I missed your previous postings. A while back they updated the Aidpage website and I still have trouble maneuvering through it. I don't know when someone has sent me a message unless I accidentally stumble upon it while reading through the daily posts on Aidpage. I originally joined the site to help others the best way I could, but most of us who are here are struggling financially as well. Therefore, we try to support each other, even if it’s only moral support. If you can give me a little more information about your situation and where you live without revealing any personal information, I'll look and see if there are any resources out there that can help you.

Need a letter to go by to write my DR.: Does anyone have a format or document I can go by to write my DR

I may be able to help you but I need some more information. Does it involve confidential information that was shared about you without your consent or another issue? If you can describe what information needs to go in the letter, I am certain that I can find what you need.
